Rodgers and Hammerstein try to top their success with Oklahoma when they filmed South Pacific. Only two of the actors in the film are heard singing with their own voices. Giorgio Tozzi of the Metropolitan Opera helped Rozzano Brazzi woo Mitzi Gaynor.
